About music production lessons
Bring your ideas to life
Music production is for everyone. Whether you are starting on accessible tools like GarageBand or working in industry-standard DAWs like Ableton or Logic, our instructors help you translate the ideas in your head into polished tracks.
Lessons are built entirely around your personal goals, whether that's a first song, a beat tape, or demos of your own songwriting. You will learn by doing, using hands-on projects to cover the core steps of making music: building beats, organizing song structures, picking the right sounds, and balancing your mix. Beginners start creating tracks right away, while songwriters and self-taught producers get tailored, expert feedback to sharpen their ear, apply practical music theory, and make their tracks sound clean and complete.
Production is not just for behind-the-scenes work. While live instruments often fill our stage, we strongly encourage production students to play their tracks, perform live sets, or share their finished projects at our seasonal recitals.

Frequently asked questions
Good to know before you book
What happens at a trial lesson?
You'll meet one-on-one with a teacher we match to your age, taste, and goals. You'll play, talk about what you want to learn, and leave with a plan to help reach your goals. Trials run 20 to 60 minutes, cost $25 to $50, and are limited to one per student per instructor.
What software or gear do I need?
A laptop with a DAW is ideal, but you can start on our studio setup while you decide. Your teacher will help you choose software that fits your music and budget.
What ages do you teach?
Kids, teens, and adults, from young beginners to retirees. 20-minute lessons are for ages 4-5, for most older kids we recommend 30-45 minutes, and for adults we recommend 45-60 minutes. For little ones ages 0 to 5, our Music Together® classes are the place to start.
Can I take lessons with a friend or family member?
Yes. Private Group Lessons put two or three friends or family members with one teacher on the same instrument, in the same time slots as our private lessons. Every student in the group pays less than they would for a private lesson of the same length, starting at $110/mo each. See group lesson rates →
What if we need to miss a lesson?
Cancel with at least 24 hours notice (or same-day in case of illness or emergency) and you'll receive a Make Up Pass, valid for 6 months and bookable online.
Do I have to commit to weekly lessons?
No. Weekly plans are month-to-month, and if a plan doesn't fit your schedule you can book drop-in lessons and pay as you go: $45 for 30 minutes, $65 for 45 minutes, $80 for 60 minutes.
Can I take lessons online?
Yes. All of our private lessons are available online via Zoom, and many students mix in-person and online lessons depending on the week.
How do we pick the right teacher?
Our admin team pairs students and teachers based on interests, age, and learning style, and you can browse teacher bios in our booking system. If it's not the right fit, you can switch teachers at any time.
